The patients with head and neck cancer develop respiratory complications due to disease itself or the effects of chemoradiation. Inspiratory Muscle Training strengthens diaphragm and reduces respiratory complications. This study evaluates the effect of IMT on the cardiorespiratory parameters.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with head and neck cancer stage III, IVa, IVb receiving chemoradiation therapy (radical). 2.Patients of either gender. 3.Patients above 18 years of age.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with head and neck cancer who have previously undergone a surgical treatment. 2.Patients with severe trismus. 3.Patients with any artificial airways. 4.Patients unable to perform the procedure. 5.Any previous diaphragmatic dysfunction or neuromuscular disease which could cause an impact over the evaluation.
