Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients over the age of 18 with acute pancreatitis presenting within 72 hours of onset of symptoms, admitted to the surgery emergency will be included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients on antiplatelet therapy, autoimmune diseases, hematologic diseases, HIV positive and patients on immunosuppression will be excluded from the study.

THE PRIMARY OUTCOME VARIABLES ARE values of serum TWEAK, Immature granulocyte percentage, Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio and mean platelet volume.Timepoint: the time points include blood investigations at admission and 24 hours after admission
