Interventions

Intervention1: Weaning From Non invasive ventilation: Patients having acute acidotic hypercapnic respiratory failure, after attaining weaning criteria, will be started on weaning from NIV by stepwise

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted with acute acidotic hypercapnic respiratory failure and treated with NIV Patients who fulfil the weaning criteria after 1 hour of spontaneous breathing with supplemental oxygen Arterial pH of 7.35 and above SpO2 of 90 and above Respiratory rate of 25 and below Heart rate of 100 and below SBP of 90 and above

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: NIV use at home for chronic repiratory failure or palliative care CPAP use for acute respiratory failure
