Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Effect of preoperative carbohydrate loading among the patients who are undergoing elective gynaecological surgeries on the following aspects: 1.Length of hospital stay 2. Insulin resistance 3.Post-operative nausea and vomiting 4 .Surgical Site Infection Timepoint: Patient is given carbohydrate drinl on the evening prior surgery and 2 hours prior surgery.RBS and serum insulin levels are monitored On the evening prior to surgery(6:00pm),2 hours prior to surgery(6:00am),1 hour after incision, immediate post-surgery,6hours post-surgery.Patient is followed up for 1 month following surgery for surgical site infection.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Effect of preoperative carbohydrate loading among the patients who are undergoing elective gynaecological surgeries on the following aspects: 1.Post-operative nausea and vomiting 2.Surgical Site InfectionTimepoint: Patient is monitored for 24hours post surgery for PONV.
