Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA physical status I or II, not attending any formal school, undergoing painful surgical procedure

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Inadequate comprehension and speaking ability of child. 2 Unable to understand and speak either Hindi, English or Punjabi. 3 Cognitive, visual or auditory impairment of child. 4 Child with altered mental status. 5 Developmental delay or neurologic impairment. 6 Underlying chronic pain disorder.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Proportion of children in the 3 to 4 yrs, 4 to 5 yrs and 5 to 6 yrs age groups who can use the S-FPS and FPS-R pain assessment scales. Timepoint: Postoperative period when child is fully awake.—
