Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)orthodontic patients who have undergone upper first premolar extraction and require distal movement of the canines after completion of levelling and aligning 2)good oral hygiene and healthy periodontium 3)non smokers 4) modified gingival index score that would indicate good oral hygiene with no or minimal visible signs of inflammation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -History of systemic or infective disease or antibiotic therapy within the past 1 month -History of consumption of anti-inflammatory drugs during the month preceding the study. ï?· Radiographic evidence of bone loss In maxillary canine region ï?· Disagreement in participating in the study presented by an informed consent ï?· Pregnant women

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
We expect the results to show a decrease in GCF 1L-1RA levels at T1 and T2 periods.Timepoint: T0- start of canine distalization T1- second day after the start of canine distalization T2- fourth day after the start of canine distalization

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
IL-1RA is an anti inflammatory cytokine, thus it decreases during normal orthodontic tooth movement.Timepoint: day1, day2, and day4
