Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Senile cataract of Nuclear grade III-IV (LOCS II classification)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Endothelial cell density less than 1500 cells/mm3 2. History of previous ocular surgery 3. History of any other coexisting oular disease 4. History of any intraoperative surgical complication

To evaluate and compare endothelial cell changes in eyes undergoing phacoemulsification or manual small incision cataract surgery Timepoint: After 6 weeks from cataract surgery

MeasureTime frame
1 . To compare the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) in both the groups 2. To correlate the average phacoemulsification time (APT) used in phacoemulsification group with endothelial cell loss 3. To compare the results in different axial length groups Timepoint: After 6 weeks from cataract surgery
