Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients exhibiting ability to maintain good oral hygiene 2.Capable of giving informed consent 3.Patients having bilateral sites requiring periodontal surgeries in maxillary or mandibular anteriors with probing depth 5 to 7 mm with radiographic evidence of bone loss (For group I) 4.Patients undergoing mucogingival surgery with Subepithelial connective tissue graft harvested from palate using Hurzelerâ??s single incision technique

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of antibiotic, corticosteroid and hormonal therapy in the past two months. 2. History of systemic diseases affecting wound healing. eg: Diabetes mellitus 3. History of systemic disease affecting hemostasis eg: bleeding and coagulation disorders, patients on aspirin 4. Patients diagnosed with aggressive periodontitis 5. Patient smoking more than 5 cigarettes per day 6. Patients who had impaired healing, developed fatigue for any reason after the first surgery or experienced an unexpected perioperative event traumatizing the tissue.

1. To evaluate and compare time course of microvascular blood flow changes at buccal papillary areas of flap (Group I ) and incision site (Group II) using Doppler Flowmetry after LTB and suture. 2. To compare time needed for LTB and suture mediated wound closure. Timepoint: 1. 3rd day 2. 7th day

MeasureTime frame
1)To evaluate and compare clinical healing of the wound after use of LTB and suture for wound closure in intra oral surgical procedures using Wound Healing Index. 2)To clinically observe and compare adherence of tissue visually by a Calibrated examiner after using LTB and suture. 3)To compare microbiology of the wound closure site after using LTB and suture by a Calibrated Microbiologist. Timepoint: 3,7,14 days
