Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Undergoing elective inguinal, scrotal or benign anorectal surgery under spinal anesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) already on alpha blocker therapy 2) cardiac disease and previous history of hypotension 3) sulpha drug allergy 4) neurological bladder conditions 5) BPH and other urological conditions 6) intrathecal opioids during anesthesia

Ability to void urine for the first time after surgeryTimepoint: Until 12 hours after surgery
