Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA I and II 2. Patients with body mass index between 18-30 kg/m2 [BMI 18-30 kg/m2] 3. Women posted for elective Total Abdominal hysterectomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Coagulopathy /thrombocytopenia 2. Localised infection at the proposed site of injection. 3. Inability to comprehend the scoring systems to be employed due to physical or mental problems 4. Known allergy to the drugs to be used (local anaesthetics , opioids) 5. Opioid tolerance /dependence 6. Renal/hepatic impairment 7. Known cardio respiratory impairment

To compare the analgesic efficacy of Quadratus lumborum block over Transversus abdominis plane block.Timepoint: 24 hours after the blocks

MeasureTime frame
1.To compare the duration of analgesia provided by Quadratus lumborum block and Transversus abdominis plane block. 2. Time of first analgesic requirement. 3. Total dose of analgesic given in 24 hrs. 4. Haemodynamic changes like heart rate, blood pressure, saturation, respiratory rate . 5. To record the complications if any 6. Patientâ??s satisfaction score. Timepoint: 0,15 mins,30 mins, 1 hr, 2 hrs, 6 hrs, 12 hrs, 24 hrs
