Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who underwent therapeutic extraction of all the four first premolars as part of fixed orthodontic treatment 2.Patients requiring maximum anchorage, with 75 % to 100 % of space closure for retraction of anterior segment 3.Patients treated with 0.22 MBT prescription 4. Aligning and leveling phase should have been completed 5. No other anchorage preservation methods used for the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Presence of any systemic disease 2. Presence of any local bone pathology evident on a OPG 3. Patients allergic to titanium

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Comparison of stability between surface treated and non surface treated orthodontic miniimplantsTimepoint: Insertion torque will be measured at the time of insertion of the miniimplants, recorded at 0 sec ( 0 turns), 4 sec( 2 turns) and 8 sec( 4 turns) at the beginning of retraction, Removal torque will be measured at the time of removal of the miniimplats ,recorded at 0 sec ( 0 turn), 1 sec( 1 turn ), and 2 sec( 2 turns) after the 6 months retraction period. The histomorphometric analysis will be done once the miniimplants are removed under a Scanning electron microscope

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Bone to implant contact by histomorphometric analysisTimepoint: Time when retraction is complete
