Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. patients belonging to ASA status 1 and 2 2. Duration of surgery between 1 to 3 hours

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Refusal to give consent 2. Allergy to local anaesthetics 3.Pregnancy 4. More than 2 attempts of intubation 5. Use of nasogastric tube and throat pack 6.Recent URTI, chronic cough, COPD,oral cavity surgery, spine surgery and thyroid surgery 7. patients with difficult airway and prone positioning 8.patients requiring elective post operative mechanical ventilation 9. Emergency surgeries
