Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: i. Age above 18 years to 75 ii. ASA physical status I-III who will undergo myocardial revascularization surgery under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: i. History of coagulation disorders ii. Recent myocardial infarction ( iii. Unstable angina iv. Bradycardia (heart rate [hr] v. Glaucoma vi. Decreased ventricular function (ejection fraction vii. left main coronary artery disease ( > 50% of diameter) viii. Emergency CABG ix. Pre-existing contralateral phrenic nerve palsy

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess the Left Internal Mammary artery Diameter and blood flow by ultrasonogram before and after Left stellate ganglion blockTimepoint: One reading of Left Internal Mammary artery diameter and blood flow will be taken after induction of anesthesia(HR and BP maintained within 20% of the baseline). Another reading of the Left Internal Mammary artery diameter and blood flow will be taken 20 minutes after the block.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Incidence of significant ventricular or atrial arrhythmias in the post-op period(sustained for more than 5 minutes or requiring intervention)Timepoint: At any point of time during the surgery until 24 hours post surgery
