Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) Age ranged from 18 to 75 years; b) all PLT indices and inâ??hospital information are fully available; c) the length of stay in ICU is more than 24 h. d)patient have been admitted due to trauma.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) Patients in the ICU for less than 24 hours b) Platelet volume indices couldnâ??t be obtained c) Patients transferred to another hospital for further management or were discharged against medical advice d) Pregnancy or patients with active hemorrhage e) patients with haematological diseases (including anemia, hypersplenia, lymphoma or leukemia, rheumatism, and bone marrow diseases) f) patients who had infused with blood or PLTs prior to their admission; g) patients who had used antiâ??PLT drugs such as clopidogrel prior to their admission; h) patients who had received radiotherapy or chemotherapy or bone marrow transplantation 1 month prior to admission i) Patients on chemotherapy / radiotherapy / platelet transfusion.
