Intervention1: SUPRA GINGIVAL SCALING AND ROOT PLANNING: AFTER SCREENING AND RECRUITMENT ALL THE PATIENTS WILL UNDERGO SUPRA GINGIVAL SCALING AND ROOT PLANNING AT BASELINE AND 3 MONTHS Control Interve

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.AAP 1999 classification of slight to moderate generalized chronic periodontitis with CAL of 2-4mm and probing depth of 4-6mm. 2.Radiographic evidence of alveolar bone loss. 3.No periodontal treatments for at least 6 months prior to the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.History of diabetes. 2.History of haematological or systemic disease requiring daily medication. 3.History of antibiotic use over the previous 6 months. 4.Pregnant or lactating mothers. 5.History of Smoking (current and past). 6.Patient with known allergies to the constituents of the formulation.

To evaluate the role of Andrographolide containing dentifrice on clinical parameters such as Plaque Index, Sulcus Bleeding Index, Probing Depth and Clinical Attachment Level between the control and the test groups at baseline, 3 months, 6 months.
