Intervention1: Dexmedetomidine: Intravenous dexmedetomidine 0.5 mcg/kg in 50 ml Normal Saline 20minutes before administration of spinal anaesthesia with 3cc of 0.5% bupivacaine Control Intervention1:

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients scheduled for elective lower limb orthopedic surgeries in SMVMCH from september 2019 to March 2020. 2. Age â??18 years to 65 years 3. Patients of ASA physical status 1 and 2 4. BMI - 30 kg / m2 or below

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Obstacles in communications like deaf, mute, mental retardation, etc. 2. Patients having chronic pain and on analgesic medications or taking other drugs with alpha adrenergic blocking effect 3. Contraindication to spinal anesthesia 4. Allergic to study drugs 5. If procedure converted to general anesthesia 6. Pregnant / Lactating women
