Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients of age > 18 years admitted to the general surgery ward at PIMS and posted for all open elective abdominal surgeries Laparoscopic surgeries with more than 7 cm long incision
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Abdominal wound which is contaminated preoperatively Surgical wounds that have to be left open Patients who require higher antibiotics preoperatively other than second and third generation cephalosporins
