Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients of 18-65 years of age undergoing emergency midline laparotomy for peritonitis.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Diabetes Mellitus 2. Any other immunocompromised state 3. BMI > 35 Kg/m2 4. Re-exploration within 30 days of surgery

1. Incidence of Surgical Site Infection (superficial and deep) within 30 days of surgery 2. Incidence of wound dehiscence/Burst abdomen Timepoint: At 4th day, then 7th day, then 14th day and at 30th day
