Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Individuals with primary diagnosis of major depressive disorder or dysthymia or generalized anxiety disorder or social anxiety disorder, Educated up to 10th standard, have working knowledge of English or Hindi, and Stabilized on medication for four weeks prior to the entry into the study
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. History suggestive of head injury, severe neurological/neurosurgical illnesses or general medical illness that could interfere with therapy 2. A primary diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia or psychosis, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, current episode of severe depression with psychotic symptoms, current psychoactive substance dependence other than nicotine dependence or clinical evidence of mental retardation 3. Participants who had received structured psychological intervention of more than 8 sessions in the past one year for anxiety or depression
