Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who will be undergoing arthroscopy of the knee between the age group of 18-60 years. Traumatic knee injuries. Patients found to have documented evidence of meniscal tear, either lateral or medial, without any concomitant injuries or any other procedures performed. Type of tears and location of the tear.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age group 60 years. Those with concomitant pathologies, such as chondromalacia, infective arthritis, malalignment or ligamentous injuries,Discoid meniscus.Degenerative tears, discoid meniscus, and cysts are nontraumatic lesions are excluded from my study.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Following the completion of the study we would be able to calculate the incidence of meniscal injuries in different age groups ,their most common type and location and risk factor association.Timepoint: 1.5years

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
â?¢ To observe incidence of isolated meniscus tears with respect to Age, Gender. â?¢ To compare the characteristics of meniscal tears- Type and location . â?¢ To determine the presence of risk factors leading to meniscal injuries such as Work related kneeling/squatting and Climbing stairs,Sports, prolonged standing, lifting or carrying heavy weights, Smoking and Alcohol consumption. Timepoint: 1.5years
