Intervention1: SODIUM BICARBONATE: ORAL SODIUM BICARBONATE to be given to Intervention group. Starting dose will be 500mg Thrice daily. Dose will be tittered to maintain bicarbonate level between 22-3

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (i) CKD with eGFR 15-89ml/min/1.73m2 (ii) Any degree of albuminuria and (iii) Stable renal function for 3 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Unstable renal course or acute kidney injury in the last three months History of recurrent urinary tract infection Obstructive uropathy or structural disease of kidney or renal tract History of analgesics abuse, alternative medication and nephrotoxic agents in the past 3 months Coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, structural heart disease, and congestive cardiac failure Patients with acute and chronic liver disease Malignancy
