Intervention1: 2% Betadine Solution arm: Before Office Cystoscopy one arm of randomly selected patients will receive irrigation of distal urethra with 2 % betadine solution. Frequency- Per urethral fl

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All male patients undergoing office cystoscopy with no significant ( >100000 cfu) growth on urine culture.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who do not give consent for inclusion in the study. 2. Age 75 years 3. Known immunodeficiency or prolonged steroid use 4. Indwelling catheter for more than 1 week 5. Patient undergoing cystoscopy • for stone manipulation. • genitourinary tuberculosis • radiation cystitis • gross hematuria 6. Emergency cystoscopy procedures 7. Bladder or urethral perforation during endoscopy 8. Catheter placement for more than 3 days after cystoscopy.

1.To define the microflora and perform a semi quantitative evaluation and identification of these bacteria in the distal urethra of males undergoing office cystoscopy. 2.To correlate the commensal microflora with the post-procedural UTI. 3.To determine whether additional irrigation of distal urethra with betadine solution decreases the incidence of UTI in patients undergoing cystoscopy procedure as compared to standard surgical preparation in males.Timepoint: January 2018 TO December 2018	—
