Interventions

Intervention1: fluid bolus of 500 ml(0.9% NS): 500ml of 0.9% NS fluid bolus will be administered through a IV cannula in 20 minutes and immediately after fluid bolus IVCCI will be calculated again.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All patients aged > 18 yrs scheduled for elective surgery after at least 8 hrs of fasting. 2. ASA I and II physical status

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Lack of consent for participation in the study 2. Presence of abdominal mass or ascites 3. Pregnancy 4. ASA III, IV &V physical status 5. Poor Sonoanatomy causing poor visualization of the inferior vena cava and the right atrium 6. Fasting less than 8 hrs or emergency surgery
