Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a. ASA 1 and 2 b. Difficult airway (modified Mallampati class IIIâ??IV or inter-incisor distance c. Age group 18-60 years d. Planned for awake fibreoptic intubation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Nonco-operative patients 2) ASA class 3 and 4 3) Local pathology of the neck precluding injections 4) Bleeding diathesis 5) Allergy to local anesthetic agents 6) Intellectual impairment or psychiatric conditions impairing comprehension of the procedure
