Inclusion criteria: Adult patients (18 years or more) posted for elective gastrointestinal surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients 2. Emergency GI surgical procedures 3. Pregnant women

To evaluate the effect of anaemia management on the incidence of anaemia in patients undergoing elective GI surgeryTimepoint: Before surgery, during surgery, after surgery, at discharge from hospital and at 2 months of surgery

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To study the rate of allogenic blood transfusion in perioperative period in patients undergoing elective GI surgery. 2. To study effect of anaemia management on preoperative Hb and pre-discharge Hb after anaemia management. 3. Postoperative morbidity, mortality and length of stay. Timepoint: Before surgery, During surgery, after surgery, at discharge from hospital and at 2 months of surgery
