Health Condition 1: F332- Major depressive disorder, recurrent severe without psychotic features Health Condition 2: F331- Major depressive disorder, recurrent, moderate Health Condition 3: F321- Major depressive disorder, singleepisode, moderate Health Condition 4: F322- Major depressive disorder, singleepisode, severe without psychotic features

Interventions

Intervention1: EEG: EEG is to be done at baseline and at one week and using QEEG theta value will be calculated which will be correlated with Ham-D scores.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age group 18 - 65 years 2. Major Depressive Disorder (Single or Recurrent ) 3. Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(Ham-D) Score more than 14

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Bipolar disorder or psychosis 2. Epilepsy or any other condition requiring anticonvulsants 3. Any Significant Medical or Surgical abnormalities 4. Dementia 5. Anxiety Disorders 6. Any treatment ( pharmacological, psychotherapy or somatic therapy) in current episode 7. Patient on any Psychotropic drug in past 2 weeks 8. Substance Dependence(including nicotine and caffeine) in past six months 9. Pregnant or Breastfeeding Females 10. Significant suicidal risk
