Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Mechanically ventilated patients Meeting PARDS definition (PALICC recommendation, 2015) Failure of conventional low tidal volume ventilation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Poor respiratory efforts Air leaks Raised intracranial pressure (ICP) Chronic respiratory disease(s) Unstable hemodynamics which remain refractory to maximum resuscitation efforts.
