Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Cases Adult inpatients (>=18 years) receiving intravenous antibiotics >=3 days in medicine/surgery wards Adult inpatients (>=18 years) as above and not received any antibiotics in the last 3 months before current hospitalization Controls Adult inpatients (>=18 years) hospitalized for non-infectious conditions and did not receive any antibiotics during hospital stay Adult inpatients (>=18 years) as above and not received any antibiotics in the last 3 months before current hospitalization

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Cases Patients Adult inpatients (>=18 years) not receiving intravenous antibiotics >=3 days in medicine/surgery wards Adult inpatients (>=18 years) as above and received any antibiotics in the last 3 months before current hospitalization Controls Patients Adult inpatients (>=18 years) hospitalized for non-infectious conditions and receive any antibiotics during hospital stay Adult inpatients (>=18 years) as above and received any antibiotics in the last 3 months before current hospitalization
