Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children from all socio-economic backgrounds, parents who are willing to allow their children to participate and moderately malnourished children (-3.0 < Z score < -2.0)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children whose parents are not willing to participate them in the study, children who have co-morbid conditions, children who are well nourished (-2.0 -2 SD and MUAC >13mm and those children who are allergic to the components in the multigrain powder (e.g, gluten content)

Design outcomes

Primary

Measure	Time frame
In phase I a general questionnaire which contains the personal details and socio-economic status of those children will be done. Anthropometric assessments and dietary intake of those children will be taken.Timepoint: 1 visit	—

Secondary

Measure	Time frame
In phase two children who were found to be moderately malnourished will be taken for the study and a weekly assessment of anthropometric measurements will be done. Our multigrain powder will be supplemented to those children for three months and the progress will be assessed.Timepoint: 3 visits	—
