Intervention1: scaling and root planing with chlorhexidine chip in treatment of chronic periodontitis: Patients meeting the inclusion criteria of both the groups will receive supragingival scaling app

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient diagnosed with chronic periodontitis with localized pocket >= 5 -7 mm in at least one or both sides of the arches Patients age between 30 to 55 years Patient with at least 20 natural teeth within both jaws Patients willing to participate in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Allergy to chlorhexidine Patients with known systemic disease Patients on antibiotic treatment in the preceding 3 months Patients receiving treatment with any antibiotics known to affect the periodontal health Patient with aggressive periodontitis Pregnant females Patients receiving periodontal treatment within the preceding 3 months Smokers
