Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 18 years and above 2. Consecutive patients with thyroid nodules 3. Clinically and biochemically euthyroid

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of intake of levothyroxine/metformin 2. Any ultrasound or FNA evidence of thyroid malignancy 3. Nodules causing compressive symptoms 4. Coalescent thyroid nodules (not suitable for size analysis) 5. HbA1c >7.5% 6. History of significant neurological or psychiatric illness which may influence thyroid function 7. Iodinated contrast exposure within past 6months 8. History of neck irradiation or neck surgery 9. Use of any medication that would affect thyroid functions 10. Pregnancy or lactation 11. Creatinine levels > 1.4 mg/dL 12. Hepatic or cardiac insufficiency 13.History of malignancies
