Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1)Patients having clinical features of hypothyroidism and fulfilling diagnostic criteria. 2)The patient having serum thyroid stimulating hormone value in between 10µIU/ml to 50µIU/ml. 3)Patients of either gender, aged between 18- 60 years irrespective of caste, religion, socio economic and educational status. 4)Those patients of newly diagnosed with hypothyroidism who are willing to participate in trial and ready to give written consent. 5)Those who are fit for Virechana according to classics. [25] 6)Patients with controlled hypertension (Blood pressure

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Patients not willing for trial. 2)Patients below 18 years and above 60 years. 3)Patients having uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes mellitus, Renal failure and any other systemic disease. 4)Patients suffering from congenital hypothyroidism, neoplasia, toxic goitre. 5)Patients on prolonged medication ( >6 weeks) with corticosteroid or any other drug that may have an influence on the outcome of study. 6)Pregnant females and lactating mothers. 7)Patients who are currently participating in other clinical trials (since last six months). 8)Patients who have under gone any type of thyroid surgery. 9)Those who are not fit for Virechana according to classics. [26] 10)Patient with noncompliance will be excluded.
