Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients requiring fixed appliance therapy in both upper and lower dental arches. Patients with their urinary creatinin levels within normal limits. Patient willing to be a part of study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients and guardians unwilling to give consent. Patient suffering from systemic disorders. Patients on multivitamin therapy or any ayurvedic medicine/ supplements. Patients who underwent previous orthodontic treatment. Patients taking smokeless or smoking tobacco.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the Salivary and Urinary levels of Nickel and Chromium released from the fixed orthodontic appliance therapy.Timepoint: At two time points, On the day of beginning the treatment before the fixed appliance placement. Six months after fixed appliance placement.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To quantify the release of Nickel and chromium ions.Timepoint: At 4 time points On the day of beginning the treatment before the fixed appliance placement. Seven days after fixed appliance placement. One month after fixed appliance placement. Six months after fixed appliance placement.
