Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Persistent, sudden, disabling, limited MMO of less than 30mm (but not necessarily painful) clearly originating in the TMJ. 2.Impeded lateral movements towards the unaffected side. 3.Deviation towards the affected side on opening and protrusive movements 4.Exacerbated pain or pressure in the affected side of the TMJ. 5. Patient conditions proved to be refractory to nonsurgical treatment

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Degenerative TMJ arthritis.Inflammatory TMJ arthritis 2.Infective TMJ arthritis. 3.Malignant tumours of the face and jaw 4.History of dislocation of TMJ. 5.History of fracture of jaw 6.History of previous surgery of jaw or TMJ. 7.Patients on anti inflammatory and analgesic drugs
