Intervention1: Fasting Blood Glucose and Insulin levels to be determined within two hours of ICU Admission.: On ICU admission, we will evaluate complete history from patient medical records, and throu
if discharged before that, using telephonic conversation. Insulin levels will be measured using Chemiluminescence immune assay method. Blood glucose will be measured by using Hexokinase method

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Aged 18 - 60years 2.Involvement of two or more dysfunctional organs. 3.Availability of blood samples to determine fasting insulin and glucose within two hours after ICU admission.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with pre-existing diabetes mellitus, chronic renal failure malignancy, cirrhosis and autoimmune disorders. 2.Patients on corticosteroid therapy 3.Patients with pancreatitis 4.Inability to give consent
