Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: three hundred nine patients of ASA physical status I and III, aged 18-60 years, scheduled for surgery requiring general anaesthesia and orotracheal intubation will be included in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with difficult airway because of upper airway pathology, anatomical deformity of face and neck, extremes of height (less than 150cm/greater than 180 cm), restricted neck movements, edentulous, uncooperative patients, obese with BMI>= 35 kg/m2, pregnant females and those undergoing emergency surgery will not be included in the study.

Mallampati grading in sitting and supine positions, correlation of Mallampati grading in sitting and supine positions with difficult bag mask ventilation and difficult endotracheal Intubation. Timepoint: MPGsitting and other airway examination in premedication room, MPGsupine in operation theater before induction, ease of bag-mask ventilation and ease of intubation after induction

correlation of other airway assessment methods with difficult laryngoscopy and endotracheal Intubation.Timepoint: other airway assessment will be done in the premedication room on the day of surgery, and difficult intubation will be assessed after induction in the operative room
