Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Geriatric patients above the age of 60 years. 2.Undergoing surgery under spinal anesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Uncooperative Patients,Patients contraindicated to subarachnoid block.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The efficacy of the procedure will be assessed by studying the number of insertions and redirection attempts required for succesful dural puncture and total time taken to perform the procedure. Timepoint: From the start of indentification of landmark till the demonstration of clear back flow of cerebrospinal fluid from the needle.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Patient satisfaction will be evaluated by noting procedure associated discomfort as assessed by the patient.Timepoint: From the start of spinal anesthesia procedure till successful subarachnoid block is achieved.
