Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) HIV-1 infected patients on antiretroviral therapy (ART) 2) Patients developing neurologic symptoms on ART 3) Patients found to have Neurosymptomatic CSF/Plasma HIV-1 RNA discordance (CSF HIV escape) defined as either a) detectable CSF HIV (CSF Viral Load more than 20 copies/ml) with an undetectable plasma HIV viral load (plasma viral load less than 20 copies/ml) or b) CSF HIV viral load 0.5 log10 higher than plasma HIV viral load

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients developing neurologic symptoms on antiretroviral therapy but not having CSF HIV escape.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1) Identification of distinct genetic profile of CNS HIV by Ultrasensitive deep sequencing which in turn better quantifies CNS HIV reservoir. 2) Identification of Macrophage tropic CNS HIV by cloning HIV envelope sequences by Pacbio sequel PCR 3) Identify any other virus which might help in enhancing HIV neurotoxicity 4) Identification of clinically significant biomarkers which cause immune activation in CNS and whose control might help in curtailing CNS reservoir. Timepoint: 1 year

Secondary
