Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: adult patients (aged between 18 & 65 years) of either sex and American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I or II undergoing any elective surgery under general anaesthesia requiring invasive arterial blood pressure monitoring will be recruited in this prospective observational study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Refusal to participate in the study 2. ASA PS III- IV 3. Massive blood loss during surgery (more than one blood volume lost). 4. Patients on high dose of vasopressor/ inotrope (defined by noradrenaline 20 mcg/min or equivalent)
