Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Children of ASA physical status 1 and 2. 2. Age 6 to 11 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children with 1. Known cognitive disabilities. 2. language barriers. 3. developmental disabilities. 4. taking psychiatric medications. 5. known allergy or hypersensitivity to Dexmedetomidine. 6. acute or chronic nasal trauma.

Preoperative anxiety of the childTimepoint: Assessed immediately after shifting the child to the operation theatre table.
