Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients Aged 35 - 44 years 2) AAP 1999 criteria will be followed for diagnosis of chronic periodontitis patients 3) Patient having with bilateral periodontal destruction in mandibular posterior segment (involving minimum 3 teeth). 4) Periodontal destruction manifesting in form of moderate periodontal pockets (5-6mm) with clinical attachment loss.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Smokers 2) Pregnancy or use of hormone contraceptives 3) Systemic condition / disease/ any medication having influence on the course of periodontal disease and therapy 4) Patients with history of use of antibiotics within the last 6 months and use of anti-inflammatory drugs within the last 3 months 5) Patients with history of periodontal treatment in the last year 6) Sites with gingival recession / pseudo periodontal pockets / advanced periodontal destruction with intra bony defects/ mobility 7) Teeth with restorations, endodontic lesions 8) Patients who are known hypersensitive for PDT dye 9) Patients contraindicated for laser intervention
