Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Acute febrile illness (AFI) cases (within 72 hrs of onset of fever) with any other symptoms suggestive of dengue fever, like headache, bodyache, retro-orbital pain, nausea/vomiting, petechiae/ecchymoses/purpura, bleeding gums, rash, abdominal pain, lethargy/restlessness, admitted in ICUs as well as wards at KMC, Manipal

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Not willing to provide informed consent and without a legally authorized representative available Immuno-compromised cases like HIV+ve (with CD4 count Known cases of Liver cirrhosis Mixed infections (malaria, influenza, chikungunya, scrub typhus, leptospirosis, etc.)
