Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Elective or urgent surgery of the hand, wrist, forearm or elbow Age 18-60 yrs ASA class I-III Able to provide valid written consent Minimum body weight of 50 kg regardless of body mass index (BMI)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patient refusalPrevious surgery or gross anatomical deformity of the clavicle Clavicle fracture Brachial plexus injury Proximal arm surgery Systemic or local infection at the needle entry point Coagulopathy Severe pulmonary condition Local anaesthetic allergy Pregnancy Prior surgery in the infraclavicular fossa Inability to abduct hand in case of costoclavicular block group
