Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur scheduled for internal fixation under spinal anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal at any time during study. Contraindication to regional block. Recent surgery on hip or spine with in 3 months. Resting pain is less than 4 on NRS (0-10). Operation is more then 2.5 hrs duration. History of chronic pain and patient is on regular opioids.
