Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pregnant WOMEN ABOVE 18 years of age of physical status ASA I&II scheduled for cesarean delivery under spinal anaesthesia.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients presenting with fever or shivering 2.Patients with hypertensive disorders of prgenancy or cardiac diseases 3.Patients with antepartum haemorrhage 4.Obstetric or maternal condition & comorbidities which may require spinal drug administration different from the study protocol(eg.short stuture,expected longer duration of surgery due to uterine abnormalities,etc.) 5.known allergy to drugs being used 6.Patients refusal

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the incidence of shivering in the patients with and without phenylephrine infusionTimepoint: Incidence of shivering will be noted from starting of spinal to 30inutes of post operative period

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.To observe temperature changes from before administration of spinal to end-operative period in same group and both the groups.Timepoint: Baseline core and peripheral temperature in degree celsius will be measured,then every 3 minutes for first 15 minutes ,then every ten minutes till end operative period.;Any episodes of hypotension in both the groups.Timepoint: Systolic blood presssure below 90 mm of Hg or mean arterial blood pressure below 20% from baseline will be noted in both the groups.;The number of patients receiving Inj.Pethidine as rescue for shivering in both the groups.Timepoint: the number of patients received injection pethidine a s a rescue drug for shivering in the study time period will be noted.;Incidence of hypertension and bradycardia in both the groups.Timepoint: Baseline blood pressure in millimeters of mercury and heart rate in beats per minute will be noted ,then every 3 minutes for first 15 minutes ,then every ten minutes.mean Blood pressure more than 20 % of baseline will be taken as hypertension.heart rate less than 60 will be taken as bradycardia.
