Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Significant valvular pathology 2. Hemodynamically significant arrhythmias 3. Preexisting history of cerebrovascular disease 4. LVEF less than 45% 5. Any significant peripheral vascular disease 6. Carotid artery stenosis more than 50 % by pre-operative carotid Doppler
Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To determine the correlation of carotid Doppler derived indices like carotid blood flow, corrected carotid flow time and respiratory variations in carotid peak systolic velocity for fluid responsiveness in mechanically ventilated patients undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting surgery and compare the predictive values of the three parameters to find out which of these parameters best predicts response to a fluid bolus.Timepoint: Duration in minutes. Mean Arterial Pressure, Heart Rate, Central Venous Pressure, Carotid Artery Blood Flow, Carotid Artery Flow Time and Respiratory Variation in carotid artery peak systolic velocity will be recorded approximately 15 min after anaesthetic induction and 10 min after a fluid challenge. | — |
