Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA grade 1 and 2 planned for upper abdominal surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: known allergy to study drug suspected coagulopathy infection at site of epidual cardiac or renal disease neurological illness deformity of spine

MeasureTime frame
Analgesic efficacy of epidural Dexmedetomidine will be assessed bu VAS score. Its safety will be assessed by monitoring vitals(BP, Heart rate, SpO2) and sedation(Ramsay sedation score)Timepoint: Vitals will be monitored intraoperatively as well as postoperatively for 24 hrs.Sedation will be asseseed for 24 hours postoperatively
