Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adult patients (aged between 18 & 65 y) of either sex and ASA PS I to III undergoing emergency laparotomy for proven or clinically suspected peritonitis under general anaesthesia will be recruited in this study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: I. Patientsâ?? refusal II. History of any previous neck surgery or trauma III. Pregnancy IV. American Society of Anaesthesiologists physical status III- V V. History of peripheral arterial diseases/ atherosclerosis VI. BMI > 30kg/m2 VII. Any cardiac rhythm other than sinus VIII. Cardiomyopathy IX. Hemodynamically unstable patients/ patients requiring inotropic and/ or vasopressors.
