Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age between 5 years to 18 years attending the department of Paediatrics KMC,Manipal with BMI between 85th-95th centile and >95th centile for age and sex.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Age 18 years Hepatic or renal disease Metabolic rickets Malabsorption disorders Hyperparathyroidsm and hypoparathyroidsm Children on Vitamin D supplements. Syndromic children Hyperthyroidism Children on steroid therapy

MeasureTime frame
1.Significant number of obese children will have Vitamin D deficiency 2.Insulin Resistance ,Fasting glucose level and Dyslipidemia is higher in obese children with Vitamin D deficiency than in those with Vitamin D sufficiency. 3.High LDL ,high triglyceride and low HDL in obese children with Vitamin D deficiency. Timepoint: At the end of 1 year 6 months from the day of approval
