Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 18 to 60 years age, ASA Physical Status I and II, Posted for elective surgery under general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation, Duration of surgery greater than one hour and less than 6 hours, Patient staying in hospital for atleast 24 hours post surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Malampatti grade > II, Head neck surgery, Chronic smoker, History of recent sore throat or upper respiratory tract infection, Patient requiring more than one attempt at intubation or traumatic intubation, Pregnancy, Allergy to zinc.
